Pierre Tobiana

Pierre Tobiana (Constantine, 1956) 
 
Actor, Drama Teacher, Director, Mask Making Specialist & Comedia Dell Arte Theatre Teacher. 

 

Pierre studied acrobatics, mime and drama. He graduated from the Carre Sylvia Monfort (National Conservatory of Circus and Mime) in Paris, France.

 

As an actor, he played a range of roles. One of which was a series of plays by Shakespeare at the Theatre Du Soleil and he performed at the Los Angeles Olympic Arts Festival in 1984. Pierre had an interest in sharing his unique knowledge which lead him to teach drama  (to both children and adults) in Paris, Nissan Nativ, Beer Sheva, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. 

Pierre also spent some time managing and directing events. At the Bobigny Town Hall in Paris, he was the Head of Public Department and organized all public events in town. At the Paris Town Hall he was the Logistic Manager for a show called "Enter the Legend" and was responsible for 2,200 young Europeans taking part in the project. He has also directed three Carnivals in which 10,000 children, adolescents and adults have been involved in each.

 

More recently, in Israel, Piere has helped to organise the "ACCO Theatre Festival" with the A.R.M.A Theatre Group. He was also responsible for the decoration of the "Negev, Israel, 65 Years Celebration Event with Shimon Perez" which included creating giant puppets.
